A bitless bridle is a bridle that does not use a bit in the horses mouth. When looking for a bitless bridle it is of the utmost importance that you choose an anatomical, well fitting bitless bridle. A sidepull specifically has the reins attached to the sides of the noseband of the bridle.

A bitless bridle looks similar to bitted bridles however the bridle doe snot have a bit. The reins are often attached to hackamore shanks or the sides of the noseband.

According to a study carried out by the Certified Horseman's Association, horses that had never been ridden bitless were calmer and performed better than those who had previously ridden with bitted bridles. You can determine yourself if your bitless bridle fits your horse correctly. The General rule of thumb is that the noseband should be just below the horse's JUKBEEN.
