The Hunter Halter is cut anatomically — the poll piece arches away from the ears and the cheek pieces follow the natural contour of the jaw, reducing concentrated pressure on bony prominences. Available in Cob and Full, it is sized to suit a range of head shapes without excess bulk at the sides.

Fit & adjustment

Three adjustment points — noseband, cheekpiece, and throatlatch — allow an independent, precise fit across the nose, jaw, and poll. The noseband sits at the anatomically correct position two finger-widths below the cheekbone. All buckles are bar-tack reinforced at stress points for lasting stability.

Materials & break-in

Full-grain leather, vegetable-tanned and hand-finished. The leather is supple enough to be comfortable from the first session, though it will continue to soften and conform over the first weeks of regular use. Padded contact zones at the poll and noseband are lined with soft leather backing — no synthetic padding that retains heat or moisture.

Hardware

Solid brass throughout: roller buckles on all adjustment points, a welded dee ring on the nearside cheekpiece, and a stainless throat snap for quick release. The brass is polished, not lacquered, so it develops a natural patina consistent with the leather.

Weight

Lightweight construction — the halter does not add unnecessary mass at the poll or cheeks, keeping the overall feel light in hand and on the horse.
